A manufacturer of glass fibres is running several spinning machines. The fibres are used to produce high-grade products, e.g. filter fabrics, fire resistant wallpapers, roofing products and a lot of other things.
A glass granulate is melted in the spinning machines and fine glass fibres are manufactured. A cooling water is used for cooling the machine and the fibres and to remove the waste fibres.
The water flows from the spinning machines to chutes and to a rotary screen. The chutes are fitted with flushing nozzles to prevent sedimentation in the chutes.
The rotary screen is a sieve to separate fibres and waste particles of process- and cooling water. The water flows inside the sieve drum. It is sieved through the drum and flows into the filtrate tank below. The sludge is kept back inside the drum and the attached conveyor screw carries it out.
The drum and screw rotates and is cleaned by a flushing device and a brush-aerator. The cleaned water flows to a cooling water basin and is pumped to the spinning machines.
The separated fibres from several rotary screens are discharged onto a belt conveyor and finally into a container.
