practical conditions:
Freshly made concrete plates are cut with the aid of cooling water. The concrete isn't completely set. To recycle the water all solid particles has to be separated. This is very important to avoid abrasion and blocking the pipes, pumps and nozzles.

function specification:
The dirty cooling / cutting water is pumped to the lamella separator. In the separator all settleable particles settle down onto the lamellas and slid down into the sludge funnel. The cleaned water flows up, through the overflow weir and into the clear water tank.
The sludge (solid particles) is conveyed out by a screw conveyer.
The benefit of the screw conveyer, compared with an eccentric screw pump, is that bigger particles also can be transported out of the funnel. Another benefit is to get the sludge much dryer than with a pump.
