Practical conditions:
To supply cooling water and process water surface water has to be treated. After a raw purification the second step is the decarbonising. In this process step fine particles are separated and at the same time the water hardness is reduced.

Function specification:
The surface water is pumped into a tree-chamber-reaction-tank. In the tank following chemicals are added: iron-(III)-chloride, lime milk and flocculant. From the reaction-tank the water flows to a Leiblein lamella separator to separate the settleable particles.
In the lamella separator the waste water flows parallel the lamellas up. Particles settle down onto the lamella plates and slide down into the sludge funnel. The clear water flows up and through an overflow wire out of the separator for further treatment or usage.
