Water purification in a zoo

Practical conditions:

In the zoological garden of Nuernberg a new attraction was built. On three floors there are natural habitats for sea lions, otters and penguins.

The water flows from a small lake in the upper floor (sea lions) to the middle lake (otters) and to the lower lake (penguins).

Function specification

The water purification is carried out with a Leiblein rotary screen and a Leiblein inclined filter.

The rotary screen is used to remove particles bigger than 1 mm like leaves, hair and other waste. The inclined filter remove finer particles which are bigger than 20 µm.

With the purification plant more than 3,000 m³ water is cleaned.
