practical conditions:
The waste water of a sugar work is lead to a biogas reactor. In the reactor the organic materials are fermented. The aim of the process is to clean the waste water. A side effect is the production of biogas which can be used energetic.
The same amount which is lead in the reactor flow over into a lamella separator. In the separator all settleable particles are separated. Most of the sludge is pumped back to the biogas reactor, the clear water flows out into the next river.
function principle lamella separator:
In the lamella separator the waste water flows parallel the lamellas up. Particles settle down onto the lamella plates and slide down into the sludge funnel. The clear water flows up and through an overflow wire out of the separator.
